Justin double majored in art and creative writing before going back for a Playwriting MFA degree from Western Michigan University. His play “The Death of the Comet” won the 2014 National Playwriting Program Full Length Script Award from Region III of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival and his ten minute plays “I Wish Every Week Was Puberty Week” and “How I Was Dishonorably Discharged from the Cub Scouts” were semifinalists in the same program in 2011 and 2014. In the summer of 2011, he was the creator, showrunner, and occasional guest star of the weekly live serial “Spacecano” to great acclaim at the York Arena Theatre. He also did stuff in other years, but you get the idea. He enjoys comics, trivia, and monster-themed breakfast cereals.
